Write your claim here Part 2 Write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the text medium and the audio medium of The Tell-Tale Heart," analyzing how the pace, character, and mood varied within ach mesum and how these differences affected you. Use the ideas from your organizes to write your paragraph. Introduction sentence: Write the title, author, and your claim Body Write about how the pace, character, and mood affected you in each medium Conclusion sentence: Restate your ideas about your claim
Answer:
Explanation:
“The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe claim for me is that the mediums were very similar since they were the same story the only difference was that the audio gave sound effects and made it more imaginative. The pace of the visual reading was much slower than the audio reading because the audio reading gave jump scares and sound effects to make the story go faster, rather in the visual reading you had to take your time and look for context clues to give hints to the reader. For the characters I feel that they were very similar. The only difference was that you actually got to hear the man’s voice in the audio rather in the visual you didn’t you just had to imagine it. And last but not least the mood. In the audio, the sounds and the voices made me feel frightened or panicked rather in the story i just felt aware or alarmed. So after reading both mediums the claim for me was definitely that they were both very similar but each medium affected you a different way.
What does the line "So dawn goes down to day" in Frost's poem indicate?
the speaker's obsession with sunlight
the passage of time
a change in the poem's point of view
the end of the poem
Answer: the passage of time
Explanation:
The whole idea of this poem by Robert Frost titled, ''Nothing Gold Can Stay'' is that as time goes by, beautiful things will eventually wither, decay and die so it is best to enjoy them whilst one still can.
The alliteration: "So dawn goes down to day", represent that passage of time because as the hours in a day go by, dawn eventually becomes day signifying that time has gone by.

Which word in paragraph 4 helps the reader understand the meaning of the word contingent?
“Mary Maloney was waiting for her husband to come him from work. Now and again she would glance up at the clock, but without anxiety, merely to please herself with the thought that each minute gone by made it nearer the time when he would come. For her, this was always a blissful time of day. She knew he didn’t want to speak much until the first drink was finished, and she, on her side, was content to sit quietly, enjoying his company after the long hours alone in the house. She loved him for the way he sat loosely in a chair, for the way he came in a door, or moved slowly across the room with long strides.”

Answer:
In my school, dress code is a common enemy. The girls are treated unfairly and must abide by the rules while the boys get off free.
Explanation:
Dear Mr/Ms……,
It was brought to my attention that there is some inequity in the school’s enforcement of the uniform policy. Many times the girls have been told their shorts are too short while we have personally observed several boys walking around with their pants so low that their underwear can be seen. Many of us believe this is wrong and is an indication of disparate treatment.
We have always been raised that a rule is the expectation, regardless. If the boys are allowed to interpret the rule any way that they can, the girls should be able to as well. We understand the schools thought process that shorter shorts or tank tops can distract the boys, but we find that unacceptable. To us that is simply allowing their behavior to continue and simply saying “boys will be boys”. Women have fought in the last 100 years for equality and the “boys will be boys” philosophy should not be accepted.
However, we recognize sometimes there are more issues and life is not as simple as we wish it could be. Therefore, we are not asking to change the dress policy to allow girls to wear tank tops or be questioned when their shorts are 4/10th of an inch too short, we are simply asking that the rules be enforced with equity, that everyone is held to the same expectation because we are all equal.
We have been told that a good negotiation is when no one walks away from the table happy because no one person got what they absolutely wanted. We believe, if you want to treat the girls and boys with equality, then the rules should be enforced with equality. If the expectation is clearly communicated to everyone and enforced with equality, then no one has any room to complain, even if they don’t agree with the policy.
We appreciate your time.

What happened in Book 9 of The Odyssey?
Answer:
Reluctantly, Odysseus tells the Phaeacians the sorry tale of his wanderings. From Troy, the winds sweep him and his men to Ismarus, city of the Cicones. The men plunder the land and, carried away by greed, stay until the reinforced ranks of the Cicones turn on them and attack. Odysseus and his crew finally escape, having lost six men per ship. A storm sent by Zeus sweeps them along for nine days before bringing them to the land of the Lotus-eaters, where the natives give some of Odysseus’s men the intoxicating fruit of the lotus. As soon as they eat this fruit, they lose all thoughts of home and long for nothing more than to stay there eating more fruit. Only by dragging his men back to the ship and locking them up can Odysseus get them off the island.
Odysseus and his men then sail through the murky night to the land of the Cyclopes, a rough and uncivilized race of one-eyed giants. After making a meal of wild goats captured on an island offshore, they cross to the mainland. There they immediately come upon a cave full of sheep and crates of milk and cheese. The men advise Odysseus to snatch some of the food and hurry off, but, to his and his crew’s detriment, he decides to linger. The cave’s inhabitant soon returns—it is the Cyclops Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon. Polyphemus makes a show of hospitality at first, but he soon turns hostile. He devours two of Odysseus’s men on the spot and imprisons Odysseus and the rest in his cave for future meals.

Odysseus wants to take his sword to Polyphemus right then, but he knows that only Polyphemus is strong enough to move the rock that he has placed across the door of his cave. Odysseus thus devises and executes a plan. The next day, while Polyphemus is outside pasturing his sheep, Odysseus finds a wooden staff in the cave and hardens it in the fire. When Polyphemus returns, Odysseus gets him drunk on wine that he brought along from the ship. Feeling jovial, Polyphemus asks Odysseus his name. Odysseus replies that his name is “Nobody” (9.410). As soon as Polyphemus collapses with intoxication, Odysseus and a select group of his men drive the red-hot staff into his eye. Polyphemus wakes with a shriek, and his neighbors come to see what is wrong, but they leave as soon as he calls out, “Nobody’s killing me” (9.455). When morning comes, Odysseus and his men escape from the cave, unseen by the blind Polyphemus, by clinging to the bellies of the monster’s sheep as they go out to graze. Safe on board their ships and with Polyphemus’s flock on board as well, Odysseus calls to land and reveals his true identity. With his former prisoners now out of reach, the blind giant lifts up a prayer to his father, Poseidon, calling for vengeance on Odysseus.
